CeBIT 2006, the largest IT show in the world, will be held over seven days at Hanover in Germany, from March 9 through 15, 2006. The event is expected
to attract some 500,000 visitors mainly from Germany, Europe and the United States.
Located at site B59 in Hall 2 near the main gate, the RWPPI booth will feature a large slogan at the top, Enjoying Life with DVD-RW&R, together with DVD-RW&R format and RWPPI logos. An overall open design feel is designed to entice visitors into the booth. Inside the booth there will be separate wall areas for each DVD-RW and DVD-R disc manufacturer, as well as an island display along the path towards the main stage featuring DVD recorders and writers and other devices. There will also be a special display area with a DVD player showing video recorded using the latest DVD-RW DL (Dual Layer) technology, for which the DVD forum is currently developing specifications.
A short movie featuring a cute baby, entitled DVD-RW is the best, will be playing on the main stage. The seven-minute movie is designed to illustrate the possibilities of DVD-RW, showing how easy it is for grandmother living far away in the country to see her grandchild. The movie will be followed by a live demonstration of the features shown in the movie using DVD camcorders, DVD recorders, computers and DVD players. The demonstration will emphasize the three key DVD-RW&R concepts of compatibility, convenience and reliability. The main stage will also host demonstrations by computer software manufacturers. All demonstrations are designed to be both interesting and easy to understand.
RWPPI is committed to promoting DVD-RW/DVD-R products throughout the world, through events in Japan (CEATEC Japan, Makuhari), the United States (International CES, Las Vegas), Europe (IFA Berlin and CeBIT Hanover), China (CeBIT Shanghai) and Turkey (CeBIT Bilisim Eurasia, Istanbul).
