Members got together for the first time this year.
NEC and Thomson were new members of the group.
The RWPPI held its fifth regular meeting on February 27. The meeting began with a speech by Mr. Sugimoto, the group's representative.
It was followed by the introduction of NEC, Thomson and Multimedia Link, who newly joined the RWPPI this year.
Then the members listened to the reports by the Media Subcommittee and Hardware Subcommittee, the introduction of testing discs by Almedio
and Pioneer, and reports of press conferences at Las Vegas Winter CES. The meeting concluded with a special lecture by audio/video critic Mr.
Kaiyama Tomohiro on "Having deep insight into movies". The members enjoyed the movie with realistic 5.1-channel surround theater
sound, while the critic supplied commentaries.
