Reports on the "DVD Recording NOW" website and the progress of the Round Robin Test. Special lecture by the non-fiction writer Mr. Kazuma Yamane well-received by audience.
The 20th RWPPI General Meeting was held on July 29.
The Meeting started with a speech from the RWPPI Representative, Mr. Koki Aizawa, who sketched a positive outlook for the industry.
"I expect the DVD recorder market to show further significant growth from fall to winter this year and numerous DVD-related products are
scheduled to be released toward the end of the year from various manufacturers. The DVD recording entertainment industry should therefore
enjoy a surge in growth ."
NewSoft Technology Corporation and Roxio Inc. have joined RWPPI. These companies introduced themselves to the meeting along with two other
companies, Gigastorage Corporation and Infodisc Technology, who could not attend the previous meeting due to the impact of the SARS outbreak.
After the reports from Hardware and Media Working Groups, the exhibition plans for IFA and CEATEC were announced.
This was followed by Ongen PublishingŐs report on the "DVD Recording NOW" website, the content of which looked very promising

A special lecture concerning the development of DVD recordable media was given by Mr. Kazuma Yamane, who is active as an author of non-fiction
as well as contributing to magazine columns and anchoring a number of television programs. Mr. Yamane spoke candidly from a userŐs viewpoint
on "the logic of DVD users" when he addressed the RWPPI participating member companies. Mr. Yamane pointed out the importance of recording/
playback compatibility verification and reliability verification to ensure the longer use of DVDs during a period when disc media is showing reme progress.
He also emphasized the sigarkablnificance of RWPPI activities and offered great encouragement to the assembled participants.
