The report on Stage 7 of the Round Robin Test was then announced.
At the beginning, the chairman of the Round Robin Test, Mr. Ishii (Pioneer,) presented an overall summary of Stage 7 that was implemented this time. His report explained that tests covering 36 member manufacturers, 265 models, and 369 items were implemented, and that the "mount check" stage was added to the tests this time for the first time. The "mount check " test investigates what kind of problems may arise in advance when a disc with new standards is accidentally played back by the user on a piece of equipment that does not support such new standards. The results of this test not only provides data that can be fed back onto each company's model designs for their next production, it also proves to be a valuable source of information for quality assurance divisions and customer service divisions.

And the final special lecture on the agenda was an introduction by Mr. Koboshi of Hot Album Com on "HOT ALBUM," which uses the EVERPLAY standard.
It is now possible for anybody to effortlessly save images taken with a digital camera onto optical discs (currently CD-R) as slideshow data with the use of the EVERYPLAY standard, which was established by the camera film industry, and plans are now underway to transfer this across to DVD discs. Despite the amazing popularity of digital cameras recently, the same cannot be said for saving the images onto optical discs, and the speech contained strong arguments as to why we should increase the popularity of saving data onto optical discs with the use of HOT ALBUM.
