1.Standard Recording Time RR-001A
1. Aim To promote product understanding and avoid confusion for users by labeling the defined standard recording time on DVD media, DVD recorders, etc.
2. Remarks   1) The standard recording time of DVD-R/RW and related products (media and recorders, etc.) shall be 2 hours (120 minutes).

2) The Labeling will be used for user manuals, packaging, etc.

2."RW Compatible" Indication RR-002D
1. Aim 1) This label indicates devices whose functions allow for the recording and playback of DVD-RW disks compatible with the "Video Recording Format" (hereafter referred to as "VR").

2) The label appears on the main units, packages, user manuals, catalogs, in-store display tools, etc,
of DVD players, recorders, PC peripherals and PC application software that have the above-
mentioned functions. The label aims to differentiate products and highlight these features to both
users and sales outlets.
2. Remarks   1) RWPrerequisites for labeling
<1> The product must be equipped with recording and playback functions
  for DVD-RW discs recorded in VR format.
<2> The DVD-RW video recorder specifications regarding recording and
_playback functions must be certified by the DVD Verification Laboratory.
<3> Products may be labeled with the DVD format logo on the condition
_that the certification mentioned in <2>is acquired.

2) About labeling
<1> Members who desire to use this label should apply to RWPPI, Secretary Office.
_Once the above conditions are met, the applicant will thereafter receive a reproduction proof
  of this label.                           
<2> Although the label is administered by Pioneer Corporation, it is released free of
_charge to RWPPI member companies.                    
<3> In order to avoid confusion between this label and the DVD format logo, it is not referred to
  as a "mark" or "logo".                          
<4> It is recommended that the label be applied to main units, packaging, user manuals, catalogs,
  in-store display tools, etc, but the exact scope of use is left to the discretion of each company.      <5> When using this label.
__(1) Place the label as far as possible from the DVD Format Logo.
__(2) The size of the label should be the same as the DVD format logo, or smaller.
___ _It should not be larger than the DVD Format Logo.

3) Recommended "RW Compatible" labeling
It is recommended that these explanations be included in catalogs and instruction manuals.
<DVD Related Devices> "This label indicates recording and playback compatibility with DVD-RW
discs recorded in VR mode (Video Recording format). However, when recording or playing back a record-only-once encrypted program, a CPRM compatible device is required."
<Related PC Application Software> "This label indicates recording and playback compatibility with
DVD-RW discs in VR mode (Video Recording format) on a PC drive equipped with playback and
recording functions. However, when recording or playing back a record-only-once encrypted
program, CPRM compatible device and software are required."

3.Track Starting Address RR-003A
1. Aim To improve stability of PCA access and enhance recording reliability by defining the following track starting address (as a recommendation to implement) for DVD-R/RW discs that have no clearly defined track starting address.
2. Remarks   1) The physical sector number of the track starting address shall be equivalent to or less than 1D000h. (See Fig.1)

2) Applicable discs: DVD-R for General and DVD-RW.
